  • How do I sign up?

    You can sign up through our website or downloading our app. iPhone users can get the app on the Apple Store and Android phone users can get the app on the Google Play Store.All you need to do is click on the sign-up page, enter a few details and done! For your convenience, you can also sign up using your Facebook or Google accounts. Your pick. Once you are in, remember to complete your basic and ID profile.

  • Can I sign up using Facebook or my Google Account?

    Yes, you can.

  • Why do I need to complete my basic profile?

    Shabo is a community. In every community it’s good that everyone knows everyone. You don’t want to be dealing with faceless names, do you? Exactly. When people know who you are and what you look like, it’s easier for them to trust you. And without trust, our community just won’t work.

  • Why do I need to upload an image of my ID?

    Just so we can verify who you are. Don’t worry, we won’t share your ID details with unauthorized people. But it helps us verify that you are who you are, and that helps us ensure that Shabo is safe for everyone.

  • I have not completed my profile or verified my ID. Can I still use Shabo?

    You can still log in and check out tasks that others are posting. But before you are able to post a task or bid on a task, you will need to complete your profile and upload an ID verification. We just want to make sure that everyone can get to know anyone they choose to work with, and that we have verified that everyone is really who they say they are.

  • What forms of ID can I use?

    We recommend you use your passport, Ghana Card or Voter’s ID. But we will also accept your Student ID.

Payments and Fees

  • What payment process does Shabo use?

    Shabo payments can be done with your bank card, bank account or Mobile Money (MoMo) account.

  • How do I add and change my payment details?

    You can add and update your payment details by clicking the “Payment” button in your Account on the app.

  • What is a service fee?

    A service fee is the amount taskers pay to Shabo when they are assigned a task on the app. You can understand that that we incur costs to run the app, pay our service providers, and take care of our team. The service fee is what helps us pay for these costs and grow Shabo. We show you all these fees while you are bidding on a task so you can take that into consideration when you bid on the task. No surprises. Members who post tasks do not pay a service fee.

Doing Shabo Tasks

  • How do I know if someone has posted a task I can do?

    When you are completing your profile, you will get the option to select tasks that you want to be notified about. So, when someone posts a task that you’d wanted to be notified about, we will text you and also notify you in the app. You can then go and bid on the task.

  • How do I bid on tasks on Shabo?

    When someone posts a task you can do, select the “Bid on Task” tab, and this will give you the option to tell the person how much you will be willing to do the task for. You can also provide more details about why you are the best person for the job. After that, just click “Submit Bid” and wait for the person’s decision. If you need it, you can also request more details about the task from the member who posted the task. If the member accepts your bid, you will be assigned the task.

  • How do I discuss a task before accepting it?

    All tasks have a public comments section on the app that you can use to chat with the member who posted the task. These comments are public and everyone on the app can see it. This is to make sure that everything is transparent and you and everyone gets a fair chance to get the task. Do not share your personal details such as your phone number, address or email with anyone in this public comment section. This is to protect your privacy and safety. When you are assigned the task, you and the member will be able to have a private messaging where you can exchange details.

  • What happens after I am assigned a task?

    First, the member will pay the agreed amount to us, so you can go and do the task knowing that the money is secure with us. You will both have access to each other’s contact details to communicate more about getting the task done.

  • What happens after I complete the task?

    Once you are done with the task, you can go to the task page on the app and request to be paid. The member will accept your request and we will transfer the money to your nominated account within 3-5 business days. After that you will be given an option to give a review of the member whose task you did. You can give the member a rating of 1 to 5 stars, and also add some comments.

  • How do I get paid?

    Once you are done with the task, you can go to the task page on the app and request to be paid. When the member accepts your request, we will transfer the money to your nominated MoMo or bank account within 3-5 business days. Important note: Members can only release payment if you have clicked the Request payment button. Please make sure you've done this when you finish a task!

  • The member has not responded to my payment request. What should I do?

    In the first instance, we suggest that you message or call the member to politely remind them. Maybe they forgot. But if after 48 hours the member has still not responded to your payment request, then you can contact us, and we’ll follow up on your behalf.

  • What if the member declines to pay me for the task?

    This doesn’t usually happen. But when this happens, we ask the member to explain their decision to decline your payment request, and this will automatically come through to us.We will always find a solution that works for everyone involved. We know shit happens. That’s why all tasks posted on Shabo are covered by Insurance. So, you have nothing to worry about if things don’t go according to plan.

Posting Shabo Tasks

  • Who is a tasker?

    Everyone on Shabo is a member. A tasker is just the fancy name we give to those members who do tasks on Shabo. It’s not a special title and anyone on Shabo can be a tasker when they bid on tasks they can do.

  • How do I post tasks on Shabo?

    Click on the Post a Task button. Select the category your task fits most and provide the required details. If none of the listed categories work for you, select the “None of the Above” category to customize your task. That’s it. Once you post your task, you just need to wait for taskers in the Shabo community to bid on your task.

  • None of the categories fits my task. What should I do?

    We have selected the categories based on common tasks that people typically need help with, and we are constantly updating it. But if none of the available task categories fits your task, select the “None of the Above” category to customize your task.

  • Are there tasks I am not allowed to post on Shabo?

    You definitely can’t post tasks that are illegal or inappropriate. We trust everyone’s common sense on that. We also don’t recommend that you post tasks asking someone to do your assignment for you. That is a breach of academic integrity and we can all get into trouble for it. Like big trouble where the University can kick us out and you don’t get your degree. So, please don’t. Our app will automatically block these posts, but we really hope we don’t have to do that.

  • What happens after I post my task?

    Wait for taskers in the community to bid on your task. You can chat with those who bid on your task and ask for more details if you need it. When you decide on the tasker you want to do your task, click on the “Accept Bid” tab and they will be assigned the task.

    The tasker will request to be paid through the app and you will be notified. If you are happy with the tasker’s job, then you click “Agreed” and this will enable us to transfer the money to the tasker. Remember to respond to this request asap because the tasker will be waiting on it to get paid. After that you will be given an option to give a review of the tasker. You can give the tasker a rating of 1 to 5 stars, and also add some comments.

  • What if I am not happy with the work done by the tasker?

    If you are not happy with the job done by the tasker and you cannot get the tasker to correct the situation, then you can select “Decline” when you get notified that the tasker has requested payment. You will need to provide reasons for your decision to decline payment and this will automatically come through to us.We will always find a solution that works for everyone involved. We know shit happens. That’s why all tasks posted on Shabo are covered by Insurance. So, you have nothing to worry about if things don’t go according to plan.
